Finding inspiration from childhood

Finding inspiration from childhood

This week, I've been reflecting on what inspires me as an artist.

While I am always drawn to nature and people - I've also been thinking about what inspired me during my childhood. How did I create art—without fear or worryWhat were the things that sparked my curiosity and wonder?

As I've grown older, I know I've lost some of that uninhibited approach. So, how can I bring back some of that fearlessness.

Is play the missing link?

To continue to grow as an artist, I'm determined to rekindle the free-spirited artist I once was. Part of this is taking time to reflect on what brings me joy. Another part is allowing myself to experiment and to be more playful.

This week, revisiting my earliest memories of creating art and paying attention to the colours, sounds, and objects that inspired me as a child.

Next week, I'll paint a few experimental mini canvases, letting go of the fear of imperfection and embracing the process of discovery.

I'm going to trust my natural creative instincts. And just have fun with it.

My question to you:
What do you do to nurture your imagination?

Love,
Madeleine
